Do I need to know how to code?
No. Click text to edit it, drag things to where you want them, and choose fonts, colours and effects from menus. There's no code to write at any point.
Is Comet free?
Yes. The Spark plan is free with no time limit and no card needed. It includes one website, published to a free Comet address.
There's no free trial of the paid plans, but you can build and publish your whole site on Spark and only upgrade if you need more.
Can I sell things on my website?
Yes. Add products with photos, prices and options, then take payment through your own Stripe account (recommended, with a basket for buying several things at once), Stripe Payment Links, or an existing Shopify store.
Does Comet take a cut of my sales?
No. Comet takes nothing from your product sales or membership payments; the money goes to your own Stripe account. Stripe charges its usual card processing fees, which are between you and Stripe.
Can people book appointments with me?
Yes. Embed your Cal.com, Calendly or Google Calendar booking page, or use Comet's built-in calendar: set your availability, and visitors pick a time, get a confirmation email with a calendar invite, and can cancel or rebook themselves. Taking payment for bookings isn't supported.
Can I offer memberships or members-only pages?
Yes, on a paid plan. Visitors join with just their email address and sign in with a code, so there's no password to remember. You can make pages and downloads members-only, and offer free or paid monthly and yearly plans, paid into your own Stripe account.
Members-only pages hide the page itself. A photo or video on one can still be opened by anyone who has a direct link to that file.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, on a paid plan. Connect one domain you already own to each website, and Comet sets up the secure (https) certificate for you. Your free Comet address keeps working too.
Can I take my website somewhere else?
Yes, on every plan including Spark. In Publish, choose Export site to download a ZIP of your static page HTML, styles, bundled fonts and relevant setup files for another host. Uploaded media is not bundled and may still load from Comet or another provider; keep your originals and move those files separately. You can also save an editable copy of the project.
Memberships and Printful checkout only work on Comet's hosting. Forms, bookings, newsletters and payments need a compatible server, credentials and database on your new host. Visitor records and analytics are not included. The ZIP’s README explains these dependencies.
